Ok, so you’ve found yourself a nice little condo unit. What next? Buy a rice cooker and do a “MacGyver“.

Yes. A rice cooker. Apart from the fact that buying pre-cooked rice is a lot more expensive, a rice cooker can actually serve as a pretty nifty frying pan. As odd as it may sound, you can actually prepare yourself a nifty little bacon and eggs breakfast using only a rice cooker.

Here’s how. First, prepare the rice as you normally would. Once that’s done, the fun part. Put a little bit of oil in the rice cooker and wait for it heat up a little. Throw in the bacon and proceed as though it were a regular frying pan. Then, fry an egg as you normally would with a regular frying pan. Removing the egg can be a bit tricky at first but with a little practice, it will eventually become easier.

Presto! Bacon and eggs using nothing but a rice cooker. Not only do you get to save on the gas bill but you get to impress a date that happens to come over for breakfast (yes, I get that sometimes).
